Nicola specialises in clinical negligence.
She deals with a wide range of claims involving different types of negligence and injuries, such as delay in diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy and failure to diagnose brain tumours, as well as cases arising from negligent early discharge of patients from hospital and intensive care treatment. Nicola has a particular interest in claims related to infectious diseases, such as meningitis, TB or HSV. She has also acted for a number of parents who have lost their children due to negligence, including dealing with the inquests on their behalves.
Nicola qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and specialized in personal injury and clinical negligence. She joined Leigh Day in 2000, since when she has practised exclusively in clinical negligence. She became a partner in 2006.
Nicola is a Law Society clinical negligence panel member. She is a member of AVMA (Action against Medical Accidents) and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
Nicola was elected vice chair of the London branch of the Association of Women Solicitors in February 2012.
