Compensation for level crossing accident cyclist

British Cycling member Paul Bell has succeeded in his claim against Network Rail arising from a crash which occurred at a railway crossing.

British Cycling member Paul Bell has succeeded in his claim against Network Rail arising from a crash which occurred on the 10 May at the railway crossing in Kirton Lane near Thorne.  Paul was brought down on his bike due to a defect in the surface of the crossing.

Network Rail eventually admitted liability and Paul was able to recover compensation in relation to the fracture to his collar bone and significant loss of earnings and other losses.

Paul’s claim was supported and funded, by British Cycling.  He was represented by the cycling and sports injury team at Leigh Day
