In 1999, the
Federation of Poles in Great Britain asked Leigh Day & Co. to work with them to bring a claim against the
German Government on behalf of former slave labourers of the Nazi’s.
We issued proceedings in the USA in October 1999 against German firms. Subsequently, we entered into negotiations with the German and Polish Governments in world-wide talks that went on to resolve the claims brought by all those enslaved by the Germans during the
Second World War.
"Working with Martyn Day and Bozena Michalowska of Leigh Day & Co. on compensation to the Polish slave workers in Germany during WWII was a pleasure. They managed to combine professionalism with compassion so needed when dealing with elderly victims. At last their efforts are bearing fruit with more than half the victims already I receipt of their long overdue compensation."
