British Cycling member Stephen Howes has successfully recovered damages after he was involved in a
road traffic accident on 13 September 2011, as he was cycling along Sheffield Road, Doncaster.
As Stephen was travelling on his bicycle along Sheffield Road a vehicle made a right hand turn into the junction of Poplar Grove, cutting across his path and leaving him no time to take any evasive action. As a result of the impact Stephen was thrown from his bicycle and sustained
personal injury, damage to his bicycle and other consequential losses. Liability for the accident was admitted by the defendant and Stephen received compensation for his personal injury and the damage to his bicycle.
Stephen was represented by

Tamsin also successfully represented British Cycling member, Simon Waldron who was injured as he was cycling along Pershore Road, towards Evesham. British Cycling member, Peter Robinson has successfully recovered damages after a road traffic accident on 31 March 2009, which happened as he was cycling along B4100 in Banbury.
As Peter was travelling on his bicycle along the B4100, there was a column of traffic on Peter’s offside and a number of parking bays on his nearside. A vehicle was travelling along the B4100 in the opposite direction to Peter, intending to turn into the parking bays. One of the vehicles travelling in the column of traffic on Peter’s offside stopped to allow the vehicle to cross the line of traffic and cycle path leading to the parking bays. As the third party crossed the cycle lane, Peter path was blocked and he was unable to avoid a collision, despite his best efforts. Peter hit the vehicle and flew over the bonnet, landing heavily on the road and suffering personal injury, damage to his bicycle and other consequential losses.
Liability for the accident was admitted by the driver of the vehicle and Peter received compensation for his personal injury and the damage to his bicycle. Peter was represented by
