Peter Hudson recovers compensation

17 January 2011

British Cycling member Peter Hudson has successfully recovered damages in relation to a road traffic collision which occurred on 6 June 2010 as he was cycling along the B4380 in Eaton Constantine, Shropshire.

As Peter was in the process of turning right from the B4380 into an unclassified road a driver was travelling from the unclassified road towards the B4380.  The driver stopped momentarily at the junction/give way sign, but continued past Peter as he turned and collided with the right hand side of his bicycle.  As a result of the impact Peter was thrown from his bike and sustained personal injury, damage to his bicycle and other consequential losses.

Liaiblity for the collision was admitted by the driver and Peter received compensation for his personal injury and the damage to his bicycle. He was represented by solicitor Sarah Birch, a member of the firm's cycling and sports injury team.  His claim was supported and funded by British Cycling.
