product liability specialist solicitor
Michelle Victor has been instructed by a young woman who suffered a severe allergic reaction after using Nice’N Easy hair dye manufactured by Clairol.
48 hours after applying the hair dye she suffered a severe reaction including a burning sensation on her scalp and her face swelled to twice its normal size. Her forehead also swelled and she suffered with a rash down her neck and back. Her GP was unable to help her and recommended that she go to hospital which she did. She was then given anti-histamine and steroids for eight days and it took about a week for her symptoms to subside. Since this incident her hair has thinned and has not re-grown, she continues to suffer from some hair loss and scalp itchiness. She had previously used hair dyes without any problems from an early age.
Michelle’s client is now seeking compensation from the manufacturers of the hair dye she used as well as consequential losses.
