Elizabeth George, a barrister in the employment department at Leigh Day & Co, was recently picked as the Times lawyer of the week (17th June 2010). Elizabeth recently successfully represented a woman RAF officer who claimed that she was removed from the Falkland Islands, and her promotion prospects delayed, because she was pregnant. The woman was awarded a significant amount in damages after an employment tribunal found that she had been discriminated against because of her pregnancy.
The employment team at Leigh Day is led by partner Camilla Palmer and specialises in all types of employment discrimination cases. Camilla is currently representing Miriam O'Reilly who is alleging age and sex discrimination against the BBC after she was sacked from television programme Countryfile.
