British Triathlon member injured in Loughborough receives compensation

Leigh Day has settled a claim on behalf of British Triathlon member John Hartshorn who has successfully recovered damages in relation to a road traffic incident which happened on 25 August 2009 as he was cycling along New Ashby Road in Loughborough.

As John was travelling on his bicycle long New Ashby Road a driver was travelling in the same direction and drove into the back of John’s bike.  As a result of the impact John was thrown from his bicycle and sustained personal injury, damage to his bicycle and other consequential losses.

Liability for the incident was admitted by the driver and John received compensation for this injuries and the damage to his bike.  John was represented by Philip Hunter in the cycling and sports injuries team at Leigh Day and his claim was supported and funded by British Triathlon.
