Philip Hunter, a member of Leigh Day’s cycling and sports injuries team, has recently concluded two successful claims for compensation on behalf of British Cycling members. British Cycling supported and funded both claims.
Tom Knight has successfully recovered damages after a road traffic collision which occurred on 20th June 2009 as he was cycling along the B4352 in Clehonger, Hereford. As Tom was making his way along the road a driver pulled out of a junction on his left knocking him from his bicycle. Tom suffered multiple soft tissues injuries across his body.
Liability for the incident was admitted by the defendant. Fortunately Tom made a speedy recovery from his injuries and we were able to agree damages without him having to undergo any medical assessment. He received compensation for his injuries and for the damage to his bicycle.
