Patients of failed DePuy products set up Support Groups

Leigh Day & Co, leading solicitors in product liability and defective product claims, have been instructed by over 280 patients throughout the UK to bring Group Action proceedings against DePuy International Ltd, manufacturers of the ASR and Corail Pinnacle prosthetic hip implants.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency issued a recall notice on 7th September 2010 recalling the DePuy’s ASR hip replacement system due to a significant increase in rates of revision compared to other similar components. Leigh Day & Co. are currently acting for claimants who have undergone, or are awaiting, revision surgery as a result of previously receiving the DePuy ASR artificial hip system. Leigh Day & Co. issued legal proceedings against DePuy on the 1st November 2010.

Leigh Day & Co. has also been approached by over 25 patients who have received the DePuy Corail and Pinnacle cup  hip components. Leigh Day & Co. are in the early stages of investigating  whether or not these components too may be this defective.

David Lentaigne and Margaret Davie, frontline campaigners for the ASR and Corail Group Actions, are familiar with the pain and suffering caused by failed implants and have set up support groups to provide information and advice to others affected by the DePuy ASR or DePuy Corail Pinnacle hip implant.
