Leigh Day & Co is pleased to have successfully concluded a claim for Polish client Mr Drzal who was injured in a road traffic crash on 11 July 2006. Mr Drzal was crossing the A406 South-Circular in London when he was involved in a collision with the driver’s vehicle. Mr Drzal sustained very serious injuries to his left leg.
Mr Drzal, who is originally from Poland was working in England at the time of the accident. He was unable to continue working after the accident due to his leg being immobilised in a specialised frame for three months post-accident.
After receiving care in England, Mr Drzal was well enough to return to his native Poland where his on-going treatment was managed.
Mr Drzal was unable to work for a significant period following his accident and required the care of his friends and family. Mr Drzal has been unable to return to his pre-accident work as a painter and decorator. He has been recommended surgery and hopes that he will be able to regain some of his pre-accident mobility once he has reparation surgery.
Leigh Day & Co was able to successfully negotiate a settlement of £55,000 for Mr Drzal’s injuries, care and future treatment.
Zahra Nanji, a solicitor in Leigh Day & Co’s Personal Injury Team commented:
“lt is always a very positive result when compensation is recovered for treatment. Mr Drzal will now have the opportunity to benefit from further treatment and hopefully gain back his pre-accident confidence and mobility allowing him to move on from the accident”.
Mr Drzal said:
"I would like to say thank all members of Leigh Day & Co, particularly to Ms Zahra Nanji for brining my claim for compensation to a successful end and for being able to negotiate a high amount of my damages."
