Our client suffered serious head and brain injuries in a road traffic accident in December 2005, aged 18.
Our initial focus was to get an admission of liability from the driver’s insurers and to ensure interim payments were made to avoid financial hardship and to effect implementation of the Rehabilitation Code to make sure our client stood the best chance of making optimal recovery from his injuries. This included the driver’s insurers paying for an intensive rehab course and other treatment.
Neurology, neuropsychology and psychiatric experts were instructed for both sides. Our client’s recovery from his injury was good in the sense that by the time a round table settlement meeting took place he had successfully completed an access course and had obtained a place to study at university.
The case was settled for £625,000 at a round table meeting shortly after proceedings had been issued and served.
The case was run by Sally Moore, partner and head of the personal injury team.
The client and their family were both thankful for Sally’s work in concluding the claim saying “Sally’s support and work made such a difference to the outcome and steered us through the difficult litigation process with skill and compassion”.
