Leigh Day lawyer appointed as Employment Judge

Leigh Day & Co is delighted to announce that respected employment consultant Joanna Wade has been appointed as a permanent Employment Judge, sitting in the Central London Employment Tribunal from 16 November 2009.

Joanna joined Leigh Day & Co in April 2009 having previously been a founding partner with Camilla Palmer of Palmer Wade solicitors.

Joanna qualified as a solicitor in 1984 and was awarded an MBE for her work in June 2002. Joanna is also a CEDR-accredited mediator.

Frances Swaine, head of the human rights department which includes the employment team, said of Joanna’s appointment:

"Although we are very sad to lose a wonderful employment lawyer who has contributed so much to the development of the team at Leigh Day, we are thrilled for Joanna to have been picked as an Employment Judge and wish her all success."

The employment team at Leigh Day, led by partners Camilla Palmer and Chris Benson, continues to offer advice in cases relating to discrimination on the grounds of sex, age, marital status, gender re-assignment, race, religion, sexual orientation and disability; maternity and parental rights; rights to flexible working (including part-time work, working from home, etc) and other employment law issues, including advising on unfair pay claims.
