British Cycling member, Craig Battersby, has settled his compensation claim following a road traffic collision in September 2007.
Craig was out cycling, on his way to watch the Tour of Britain, when the motorist turned left across his path without indicating. The motorist’s insurers initially admitted liability for the collision and then claimed that they did not actually insure the vehicle.
Court proceedings were necessary to force the insurers into taking some action and the claim settled shortly after the proceedings were served and just at the same time as Craig was getting married in Cuba.
Craig was represented by
Penny Knight of Leigh Day & Co’s Cycling and Sports Injuries Team. His claim was supported and funded by British Cycling.
