Compensation secured for British Cycling member

20 August 2009

British Cycling member Peter Ward has successfully recovered damages in relation to a road traffic incident which occurred on the 6 March 2009 as he was cycling along Lamb Lane, Letwell.

As Peter was making his way along Lamb Lane he indicated that he intended to turn right into the nearby junction of Penny Lane. As he carried out this manoeuvre a motorist drove into the back of his bicycle and he fell off. Fortunately he suffered only minor grazing.

Liability for the accident was admitted by the motorist and Peter received compensation for the damage to his bicycle, clothing and helmet. He was represented by Sarah Birch in the cycling and sports injuries team at Leigh Day & Co and his claim was supported and funded by British Cycling.
