British Cycling member, Keith Tonge, has settled his claim against Windsor Borough Council following an incident in April 2007.
Keith was cycling across Victoria Bridge towards Datchet and hit a series of raised tarmac “blisters” in the road. He could not control his bicycle as a result and fell. Keith fractured both his wrists and also his left thumb, as well as soft tissue injuries to his elbows, knees and hips, as a result. He was taken to hospital and required surgery to fix his fractures.
The Council accepted that the state of the road fell below an acceptable standard and agreed to settle Keith’s claim.
Penny Knight of Leigh Day & Co’s cycling and sports injury team acted on Keith’s behalf.
