Despite the bad weather, which gave the teams more of challenge, crew members and supporters thoroughly enjoyed the charity event.
Overall all teams had done well in the race, the best time was achieved in round two, heat four by 1 Crown Office Row with the amazing time of 42.94 seconds. The best race for Leigh Day’s team was in round two, heat six being completed in 46.50 seconds.
The final race included: 1 Crown Office Row, 3 Serjeants’ Inn, Blackstone Chambers and Doughty Street Chambers. It was a close final with 1 Crown Office Row winning by only 0.6 seconds faster than 3 Serjeants’ Inn.
Sally Moore, partner at Leigh Day & Co, presented the finalist teams with their medals and trophies and announced that the event had raised £7,000 for the
Limbless Association.
“Just a quick email to thank you for organising yesterday’s event. As for most of “team 1TG”, it was my first experience of dragon boat racing (hence no doubt our rather leisurely pace). Despite the weather, it was a good fun evening – and for a great cause."

“Can I just say what a great event it was and how well organised it was too. The troops are feeling a tad stiff this morning, but the re-capturing of the trophy goes some way to ease the muscle ache - the fact that we beat 3 Serjeant's Inn in the final making victory even sweeter!”
Nick Rees
1 Crown Office Row
“I am writing to thank you for such a fun night last Wednesday. It was beautifully organised and despite the weather and us being pretty lousy at the rowing part, we all had a great evening.”

“Just wanted to say thank you for inviting 1 Temple Gardens to be a part of last night! It was lovely to meet you and we all had a great time, in spite of the weather!
Thanks again, and we hope to see you again next year! (And this time we’ll be practicing!)”
