Legal ace wins reprieve for health centre

10 January 2008

Psychiatric centre,Tottenham Mews, seen as the 'jewel in the crown' of the mental health care service in central London, had been threatened with closure by the Camden and Islington Mental Health Trust. However, following contact from Richard Stein, a partner in the human rights department at Leigh Day & Co, the trust has now accepted that the closure was announced without proper consultation. The unique walk-in centre will now remain open for at least six months.
