Rape claims against British soldiers

27 February 2008

Martyn Day is pursuing a new legal case in Kenya in response to over 100 allegations of rape by Kenyan women against British Army soldiers in Kenya.

The firm is in the process of asking the Ministry of Defence for information about their response to the women’s claims and whether any formal disciplinary process has been undertaken. Allegations of rape by British soldiers span the last 20 years and include instances where women have subsequently found themselves pregnant and have been ostracised by their communities for bearing children outside marriage.
